Dan Wilson

Dan Wilson is an experienced physiotherapist with over a decade of clinical practice in sports medicine, specializing in the assessment and management of knee injuries. Since 2012, he has worked in high-volume, physician-integrated sports medicine settings, developing strong expertise in clinical diagnosis, early injury triage, and evidence-based treatment planning for acute musculoskeletal injuries.

Dan is the co-founder of Project ACL, British Columbia’s most comprehensive ACL rehabilitation and return-to-sport program. Through this work, he has collaborated closely with orthopaedic surgeons, sports medicine physicians, and allied health professionals, contributing to the development of structured, outcome-driven care pathways for knee injuries. This experience has reinforced his commitment to ensuring patients receive the right care at the right time, whether that involves conservative management or timely referral for further investigation or surgical opinion.

Within the Acute Knee Injury Clinic, Dan’s role is focused on early expert assessment of acute knee injuries, establishing a clear working diagnosis, providing patient education and reassurance, and guiding appropriate next steps in care. He has particular expertise in identifying injuries that respond well to conservative treatment, while also recognizing clinical presentations that warrant further imaging or specialist referral.

Dan integrates thorough clinical examination with a strong understanding of rehabilitation science and load management to support safe, efficient recovery. His approach emphasizes clarity, communication, and collaborative decision-making—helping patients and referring providers navigate the early stages after knee injury with confidence.

I'm incredibly grateful for Dan's guidance and support with my recovery. I've run a marathon and I've returned to practicing martial arts since. Dan is simply phenomenal at what he does!

Brett’s encouragement, understanding, and sense of fun made this long, tough journey both manageable and motivating. I’m incredibly grateful for his guidance, both physically and mentally, throughout my recovery. I honestly couldn’t recommend him more highly.
